About Us

Who are we?
We are Vanessa and Mike van Heesbeen, and have a beautiful daughter Chrissy.
Because our daughter loves cats and showing so much we decided to name our cattery after her.
We started our journey with showing Maine Coons in September 2023 and our third show was the FiFe World Winner Show in France, where our male (Shadow Bellamoondo *PL) got EX1, BIV Total and NOM BIS !
We have persian cats for 15 years, but only as pet at home and never went to shows with them.

We come from the equestrian world, where Vanessa competed for almost 30 years in showjumping on national level.
In April 2023 our lives changed when Vanessa had an accident with her horse and broke her leg (complicated fracture). This was the end for her showjumping career and that is how we got into the world of showcats and also breeding. Vanessa graduated as paraveterinarian and will bring that experience with her to the Feline world.

Dream:
Being around for many years in the equestrian world we both have learned a lot about horsebreeding and the genetics.
In the equestrian world the very best horses come from champion damlines where the dam, grand dam, great grand dam etc have competed on the highest level. We looked also at inbreeding and many times in horsebreeding it is an advantage to do healthy inbreeding when it is a match in type. Meaning make the strong points stronger and try to decrease/elimate the weaker points/
This experience and knowledge we want to bring into  our cattery, and want to build strong damlines where the mother, grand mother, great grand mother atc. are all champions. As we are convinced that in catbreeding it is the same as in horsebreeding. We also think that the male/father of a litter should also have his titles, and should come as well from a champion damline.
If you ask us why we want to breed, the answer is simple: We want to ”build”’ champion pedigrees.
But not less important is breeding cats who have a gentle character, and are suited for all families.
Before we have our first litters we go to national and international shows (FiFe, Tica, WCF), and of course we hope that our cats will be succesfull on shows.

Health:
Before our cats will start their breeding journey they will be tested by an apporved veterenarian
